Solar pumping projects seldom put their electronics in a clean room. The inverter usually ends up at the wellhead, at the edge of a field, on a stand beside a tank, or in a shed that is open to dust and weather. The KEWO FD600 High Protection Solar Pump Inverter is built for that reality: an IP65 outdoor waterproof solar pump inverter sealed against the conditions that shorten the life of a standard drive.

The FD600 uses a split-type sealed enclosure, and its circuit boards are coated with professional-grade conformal coating, so the unit is protected in several layers against oxidation, salt spray, mould, high temperature, humidity and corrosion. KEWO rates the sealed housing up to IP66, which means the inverter can be installed outdoors directly instead of being hidden inside a separate cabinet. A built-in temperature detection and alarm function adds a further safety layer and helps extend the service life of the drive.

Recommended MPPT window: 250–400 VDC (220 V class) and 500–750 VDC (380–440 V class)
Control methods: V/F, SVC and VVC control
Motor types: asynchronous motors (IM) and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM)
Drive efficiency: ≥ 96 %; MPPT efficiency: above 99.6 %
Output frequency range: 0–600 Hz
Overload capacity: 150 % of rated current for 60 s, 180 % for 10 s
Operating conditions: −10 to +50 °C (derating above 40 °C), 5–95 % RH non-condensing, sites up to 1000 m without derating
Cooling and certification: forced air cooling; CE and ISO certified
As a solar pump inverter rather than a general-purpose drive, the FD600 carries the pumping logic that a PV array demands: MPPT (maximum power point tracking), CVT (constant voltage tracking), auto and manual operation, dry run protection, low stop frequency protection, minimum power input, motor maximum current protection, flow calculating, energy generated calculating and water tank level detection.
Protection functions cover overvoltage, under-voltage, current limit, over-current, overload, electric thermal relay, overheat, overvoltage stall, data protection, rapid speed protection and input/output phase failure protection — up to 33 protection features in total. The unit is also resistant to oxidation, salt spray, mould, humidity and corrosion, and it is designed for low maintenance: the overall design is maintenance free, and synchronous motors can run without tuning.
Because the control cabinet and the inverter are integrated, there is no secondary installation step: the drive arrives ready to mount outdoors. Cabinet dimensions are 190 × 265 × 137 mm for the 0.75–5.5 kW models and 201 × 304 × 137 mm from 7.5 kW upwards. Start/stop control and speed adjustment through the up/down keys keep on-site operation simple, and a carrier frequency of up to 16 kHz keeps motor noise low.
The FD600 is aimed at harsh-environment pumping work: farmland irrigation and livestock water supply, aquaculture, deep-well submersible pumps, and remote or community water schemes where the drive has to be mounted outdoors. The same sealed construction also suits industrial sites such as steel, petroleum, chemical and water-treatment installations.
Because pump power, head and flow decide the real duty point, the model list should be read together with the pump curve and the array’s voltage window. KEWO’s published model and selection tables for the FD600, including the DC input and MPPT windows for each power class, are available on the product page, and the company’s engineers can confirm the right model for a specific pump and array.
